We are not alone at Mzuni Press

Posted 8.10.2014
Mzuni Press is neither new nor alone. The work we do here is the sequence of the work which we did in Zomba from 1995 till 2007: The Kachere Series. http://kachereseries.luviri.net/
The Kachere Series has produced over those years about 150 titles, from small brochures to big monographs. The remit was to produce books (and journals) on “Religion, Culture and Society from Malawi.” A list of Kachere Books available at African Books Collective can be found here: http://www.africanbookscollective.com/publishers/kachere-series Since I left Zomba, the Kachere Series has continued to publish, and when a new book comes out, we will include it in this blog. After all, Kachere is our Big Sister. Below is the latest book from Kachere:

African Books Collective
Local publishers in Africa all have the problem of how to reach the international market. Since over 15 years this burden has been taken away from us as by the African Books Collective: http://www.africanbookscollective.com/ & orders@africanbookscollective.com. The books there are printed as Print on Demand. This means that the books are printed one copy at a time. To make this possible the printer uses toner instead of ink. And if Print on Demand sound like something temporary or simple, do look at the books and you will see the beauty.
Below is the list of Mzuni Press books that are available as Print on Demand books from African Books Collective:

To complete the picture, below is one title published by Mzuni Press that is not available as Print on Demand:

Mzuzu University
Mzuni Press is related to Mzuzu University, which supports the work. http://www.mzuni.ac.mw/
